Hey cafe lovers, it's been a month now and hey HAPPY NEW YEAR GUYS!!! Say hello to 2015 and good bye to 2014! So hey it's new year so I decided to pay a visit to a cafe since all shopping complexes were full of people, so why not go grab something nice to eat and to celebrate the first day of 2015. And so we went to a cafe called COFFEERIGHT PLACE.

This cafe is a little cafe located at the Jalan Kampar roundabout, the shops right opposite Methodist Girls School Ipoh. Can be easily missed if you are too busy focusing on the road, so do look out for it. It is also a non halal cafe, so yup there's pork in this cafe =D *meat lover* 


The background of the wall of this cafe brought live to it, using bright colours to highlight the skylines of New York which is in black and white. 



They also do serve different types of varieties of food. From local to western dishes and of course they do have desserts and pastries. Moreover, they also serve finest fresh coffee and specialty beverages at affordable fare, top-notch service and great ambience to satisfy everyone. They are not like those normal cafe that only serves tidbits, pastries or desserts cause they do have appetisers and main courses too! If you're looking for Macarons around Ipoh, they also had it here but it is kinda little pricey for a piece. If I'm not mistaken it cost around Rm4 per piece. Wanted to try them but nyehh I've already found my favourite one where the taste is just right. Ok back to the topic! LETS START WITH THE FOOD SHALL WE?!

FOR THE APPETISER 


I ordered Breaded Scallops serve with a sauce that i can't figure it out and before tasting the sauce, I first thought it was Balsamic vinegar but it's not. Love the scallops but the sauce is not what I expected to be cause it was too salty and it doesn't goes well with the fried scallops to be honest. The scallops were well cooked and its still moist. The price for this dish is RM12 for 8 nice pieces of scallops. Reasonable price. 

BREAKFAST COURSE


 It was my late breakfast so the next dish that I ordered was the Classic Eggs Benedict with Hashbrown and salad on the side. It's been a long time since I had this. Surprisingly this was good compared to other well known cafes in Ipoh (won't say which cafe cause it was not even an eggs benedict). The tanginess of the Hollandaise Sauce was just on the spot. Love the sauce, been finding for the right one and this is the one so far in Ipoh. But unfortunately one of my eggs were slightly over, but on the bright side the other one was the bomb! This cost RM16 for this fine dish. It is all about the taste that impresses you! 

DESSERT


Lastly, dessert I ordered Panna Cotta with a Homemade Strawberry Jam on top. For those who doesn't know what is Panna Cotta, it is an Italian dessert which is made with cream, milk and sugar. I believe not many of you ordered this before but hey if you like custard or milk, you should give this a try. It might seem a little simple but the texture and the taste is great from my own point of view. The thickness and the richness of the Panna Cotta matches well with the sweetness and the tartness of the strawberry. It goes very well together where sometimes others might get too light and the topping can overpowered the taste of the Panna Cotta. Wherever I see Panna Cotta in a cafe or in a fine dining, it is a must for me to order this dessert. LOVE IT SO MUCH! And this cost RM8. Pricy for a simple dish?! BUT IT'S WORTH THE TASTE!

UPDATES

Came for another visit to checkout on their food again. This time I brought my family along, so we could try more of their food. 

Let's start with their barista 



Single-shot Cappuccino for RM8. 


This is their Signature Steak cooked medium rare perfectly with black pepper sauce in a bowl, mashed potato at the side and a salad dressed with balsamic vinegar. I prefer to have more sear to it. It cost RM38 for this dish.


Does this looks nice already. It's a Pork Chop with a Mustard seed sauce. Pan seared evenly to perfection. Love the crust on both sides. Juicy in the middle. For the sides, the same with the Signature Steak. I was hoping for a thicker pork chop! This dish cost RM20 

Pork Burger for RM15. A crispy pork chop in the middle. I find this too simple because they only have mustard sauce in it with lettuce... Nothing special...

Fish & Chips served with paprika dust on the mayonnaise. RM18

Margherita Pizza RM16. This was a total let down for me cause they did not bake it long enough. You can see that the tomato slices was still raw and the cheese didn't melt that much. So maybe you can ask them to baked it longer if they served like that to you... Just an opinion...

Blueberry Tart for dessert at RM13.90. It is only topped with caramelised blueberry at the top and the middle, there is no fillings in it. Another total let down. I was hoping for a custard inside... 

 Overall, so far nothing special about the food....

Waddap FOOD LOVERS !!!! Last week my besties called me out for an outing a day before, so I thought of bring them to Petit Mary to try their food, since I heard many great comments about the food and one of my friend wanted to try it out too. The Happy 8 Retreat | Cafe & Hotel | Ipoh

Bonjour! Hello fellow readers, a couple of days ago I found this cafe which is so different compared to other cafes, so why not pay a visit and try out something different. This cafe has a forest themed to it, bring a relax and cozy feeling. Since the weather is quite sunny and hot, this cafe can be a place for a hideout. It took me sometime to find this place and it is cluttered with plants everywhere. So this will be the entrance.
