The Happy 8 Retreat | Cafe & Hotel | Ipoh
Bonjour! Hello fellow readers, a couple of days ago I found this cafe which is so different compared to other cafes, so why not pay a visit and try out something different. This cafe has a forest themed to it, bring a relax and cozy feeling. Since the weather is quite sunny and hot, this cafe can be a place for a hideout.
It took me sometime to find this place and it is cluttered with plants everywhere. So this will be the entrance.
On the left hand side of the entrance you will come across to this antique trishaw.
As you can see, this is the front desk and on the right is a stairs made of wood leading to hotel rooms.
On the left of the front desk, they have displays of handmade soaps and it's for sale too.
When you walked further in, you'll see a sitting area on the left
On the right, you will see this gorgeous table and stools made of wood, and the barriers are made with bamboos. Underneath this is a pond with koi fish. Same goes with the left side of the entrance.
Can you spot any fish down there?!
And now the entrance to the dining area
Loving it yet?! If you realised, there are a few bottles of liquor on display behind the counter.
Paintings on the wall, giving the forest look.
At the side of the cafe, is the outdoor part for the cafe.
OK NOW THE FOOD... SHALL WE...
Chocolate, Sponge, Cheese, Berries, Tiramisu... you name it...
Coffee or Tea
A nice bowl of good old "ABC soup".. But for me a little too much black pepper in it....
I ordered a set lunch and it costed me RM21.90. Spaghetti sauteed with olive oil and chilli flakes, served with a Fried Chicken Chop and white sauce. It tasted normal.... but not really what I expect it to be like this...
Happy Bun, RM20.20. In the sandwich you'll have a sausage, ham, cheese, and an egg in it with loads of veg. On the side is a potato salad... It doesn't meet my expectations and to me, this is quite pricy for such a simple dish.
Creme Brulee, it tasted fine but the sugar on the top is too thick and it is not been melted and caramelised enough, they should be using the caster sugar and not those chunky ones. So unpleasant when i had this...
The overall is ok... like the environment, do not fancy the food...
